About Tideglass
We help Malaysian businesses think clearly before they change
Tideglass is a change management advisory practice based in Kuala Lumpur. We work with owner-led companies and small-to-mid-sized businesses preparing for structural shifts. Our focus is on the conversations and written frameworks that make change easier to absorb.

Built around the gap between planning and doing
Tideglass came together after years of watching capable Malaysian companies handle change poorly — not because the strategy was wrong, but because the groundwork was skipped. Systems were switched on before people were ready. Reorganisations were announced without a clear message. Programmes ran for months before anyone asked how the internal owner was coping.
The founding team had worked across consulting, corporate communications, and programme management in Malaysia and the broader region. The shared observation was that most of the damage in change programmes happens in the first few weeks — before the new thing has even started — and that a relatively small amount of advisory attention at that stage can shift outcomes meaningfully.
We set up Tideglass to offer that attention in a form that is affordable for owner-led firms and SMEs — not a large consultancy engagement, but a structured, written, practical service that treats the people running the change as capable professionals who need a thinking partner, not a project manager.
Our Mission
Thoughtful advisory that respects your team's judgment
Orientation over prescription
We help leadership teams understand where they stand, not tell them what to do. The written notes and frameworks we produce are tools for your team, not directives.
Written clarity
Conversations fade. Written notes stay. Every engagement produces something your team can read again, share with new stakeholders, or revise as the programme evolves.
Advisory, not execution
We do not take over your change programme. Your team runs it. We sit alongside and help with the thinking, the sequencing, and the communication.

How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Advisory work is only as good as the discipline behind it. These are the commitments that shape every engagement.
Client confidentiality
Everything disclosed in an engagement stays within it. We do not share case details, company names, or internal information from one client with another. Confidentiality agreements are available on request.
Written deliverables, not verbal summaries
Every engagement produces a written document that you own. We do not charge for follow-up questions about what was in the document. The written note is the deliverable.
Scoped and time-bound work
Our engagements have defined scopes. We do not expand the work without agreeing to an expansion with you first. This keeps costs predictable and the relationship clear.
Independent advice
We do not have technology or implementation partners. Our advice is not influenced by what third-party solution we might prefer to see you adopt. We have no commercial interest in which direction you choose.
Senior adviser involvement
The adviser who does the initial conversation is the adviser who does the engagement. We do not sell work to a senior team and deliver it through junior staff.
Data handling and privacy
Materials you share with us are used only within the scope of your engagement. We follow Malaysian data protection standards and delete engagement materials after a defined retention period.
Our Approach
Change advisory shaped for Malaysian business conditions
Malaysian owner-led firms and family-managed businesses operate with a particular set of dynamics that outside advisory often misses. The decision to change is often made by one or two people, but the change itself affects many. Communication up and down the company sits on personal relationships and unwritten norms. External advisers who arrive with frameworks designed for large corporates often find those frameworks sit awkwardly in a smaller, more relationship-driven context.
Tideglass builds its work around these realities. We spend time at the start of an engagement understanding the ownership structure, the key relationships, and the informal communication patterns before we offer any observation. The readiness note, for example, is not a checklist applied uniformly — it reflects the specific company it was written about.
The communication frameworks we produce are written to be used in Bahasa Malaysia or English depending on where your staff are most comfortable. We work with companies whose teams span both languages, and we understand that a template written only in formal English will not travel well into every part of a Malaysian workforce.
For companies navigating their first significant structural change, the value of having an adviser who has seen these programmes run — and who can name the common points where things drift — is practical rather than theoretical. We do not cite case studies from overseas. We draw on what we have observed working with Malaysian businesses over the past decade and a half.
